SARDI is a leading research and development institute delivering innovation to enhance South Australia’s agriculture, fishing, aquaculture and food industries and environmental systems, working in collaboration with state, national and international collaborators, partners and investors.
 
The Research Scientist – Ecosystem Trophodynamics, will be responsible for providing key capabilities in trophodynamic modelling and contribute to existing projects modelling the trophodynamics of the Great Australian Bight, Spencer Gulf and Gulf St. Vincent ecosystems. Projects require the integration of data on the diets of species, estimates of their biomass and production and ecotrophic efficiencies, along with the integration of key time-series of fisheries catch and effort, and environmental and physical data.
 
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D. in Ecology, Fisheries, Mathematical modelling or related discipline with research experience in trophic modelling is required.
 
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The role is located at the South Australian Aquatic Science Centre, West Beach. Interstate, intrastate and international travel will be required. Some out of hours work, weekend and public holidays work will be required.
