2015_05: Open PhD and Postdoctoral research fellow positions, Bergen, Norvège

At the Institute of Marine Research we currently have two vacant positions, a PhD and a postdoc, both for three years. These positions are part of the project Can contemporary evolution explain the many enigmas in recent dynamics of Norwegian spring-spawning herring? (ConEvolHer), financed by the Research Council of Norway. The main objective of the project is to find out why pelagic planktivores defy the existing theoretical and empirical findings by not showing evolutionary decreases in maturation age, and to assess whether evolutionary changes can be documented in other traits or population characteristics. Norwegian spring spawning herring will be used as the focal species.
