We are looking for

Two scientists to strengthen the scientific output and climate of our team of fish and fisheries biologists and act as a leading scientific figurehead of our institute, in cooperation with our Scientific Director prof. dr. Han Lindeboom.

 We ask

A strong publication record in a relevant field of research, that you continue and expand together with your IMARES colleagues. Relevant fields may include (but are not limited to): monitoring, fish ecology, fisheries techniques and fisheries effect studies.
You are an inspirator, a motivator and a coach for junior scientists helping them publish and grow in their career. You are able to attract attention to our institutes scientific achievements and your own, leading to new contacts and new contracts. You are used to leading projects and programmes. You are able to make use of the possibilities offered by the contract research environment IMARES is working in. We are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic persons who are keen to further develop our position and team at the international forefront of science and consulting based research.

Depending on the role you can play, the function level will be Researcher 1 or 2 (scale 13 / 12; minimum salary € 3497,– per month, maximum € 5880,– per month before taxes for a 36 hrs working week). IMARES Wageningen UR (www.wageningenimares.wur.nl) is the national institute for strategic and applied marine ecological research. We focus on fisheries management, environmental protection and spatial use of the seas and coastal zones. Our core competencies are (marine) ecology, nature protection, water quality, contaminant risks, biological production and marine governance. Our research methods comprise (sea going) fieldwork, experiments, lab work, data collection, data management, modeling and simulations. Wageningen IMARES employs 220 people of which 180 representing a broad variety of scientific disciplines.
