These posts are central to a European Research Council-funded project led by Dr Jane Reid that aims to 1) build new theory explaining the evolution and persistence of polyandry and inbreeding, and 2) test this theory using >20 years of complete life-history and pedigree data from free-living song sparrows (Melospiza melodia).

Department of Biology, University of Oulu, Finland, has an opening for a post doc position in the Community Ecology Research Group, in the project “Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functions in Groundwater-dependent Ecosystems” funded by the Academy of Finland. The position will start on 1st January 2013 and will continue for 3 years.

The VIU International Centre for Sturgeon Studies (ICSS) in collaboration with the VIU Horticulture Department and an industrial partner have proposed a project for funding titled « Development of closed containment and aquaponics technologies for White sturgeon aquaculture ». We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow (PDF) for a
two-year period to lead this project. The majority of the funding has been secured, with the remainder being contingent on recruiting a qualified PDF candidate.
